In 1975, Tainan County Yongren High School was established. In 2005, the school was restructured into Tainan County Yongren Senior High School. In 2000, Tainan County and Tainan City were merged into a municipality. The school name was changed again to Tainan Municipal Yongren High School.
In 2015, the school developed a vision: diversified development, warmth and friendliness, excellence and innovation, and community trust. The school also added images of students with reading exploration, physical and mental health, and an international perspective. In recent years, its devotion to the 12-year Basic Education Curriculum gradually makes Yongren High School a high-quality community high school with six grades.

With an eye towards a diverse education the humanities and the development of science & technology Yong-Ren is a high quality school stepping toward a new century. The school places importance to both life and moral education and tries to cultivate students good living habits to form a healthy personality. The schools ultimate goal is intelligent and diverse students with international vision language capacity and technological skill. Furthermore Yong-Ren aims to produce students focused on caring for the disadvantaged sharing resources developing good interaction between schools and communities and becoming a good neighbor trusted by communities.
