History of the School
• The School, originally named Taichung Girls' Home School, was established in April 1935.
• In June 1946, the name was changed into Taichung Municipal Girls ’Junior Vocational School.
• In August 1951, The Senior Department was established.
• In August 1968, the School was reformed into Taiwan Provincial Taichung Home Economical School.
• In August 1970, the School was reformed into Taiwan Provincial Taichung Home Economical and Commercial Senior Vocational School.
• In August 1970, the School carried out different curriculums in accordance with individual department and set up Commercial Vocational Night School.
• In August 1974, Department of Accounting Affairs and Clothing-making were established.
• In August,1980, males were admitted to the School.
• In August 1986, Department of Data Processing was established.
• In August 1991, Principal Wang took over the School.
• In August 2000, the School was reformed into National Taichung Home Economics and Commercial High School.
• In July 2001, Principal Wang retired. Principal Yang started to take over the School.
• In August 2001, the Department of Special Education was added.
• In August 2003, the Department of Home Economics stopped enrolling students, and it was replaced by the Department of Early Childhood Care and Education.
• In August 2004, the Department of Applied Foreign Languages was added.
• In August 2005, Principal Yang transferred to TCGS, and Principal Zhong Ke-Xui started to take over the School.
• In August 2008, the Department of International Trade was added.
• In July 2013, Principal Zhong retired, and Principal Lin Yi-Hui started to take over the School.
• In April 2015, Tokyo Metropolitan Suginami High School in Japan became our sister school.
• In 2016, Utsunomiya Commercial High School in Japan became our second sister school.
• In January 2017, the School was renamed as “Taichung Municipal Taichung Home Economics and Commercial Senior High School” under the jurisdiction of Taichung City Government.
• In August 2020, Principal Lin transferred to K-12 Education Administration of MOE, and Principal Liu Fu-Rong started to take over the School.

1. TCHCVS, as an indicator high school in central Taiwan, has achieved the highest ranking three times in a row at quadrennial school evaluation. We have nurtured countless talents in fields of all kinds.
2. Our development goals are to continue our legacy and pursue excellence. Meanwhile, we aim to build a school of all-around education and of happiness with visions of refinement, multi-dimension and excellence.
3. There are eight departments in our school, categorized into three main groups: Home economics, Business and administration, and Foreign Languages. Also, we have a Division of Continuing education.
4. Under the great leadership of our principal, we enjoy avid teachers, hard-working students, and remarkable achievements on both teaching and learning. Students ranked the top in the College Entrance Exam for all groups. The number of students who get admitted to National Technical College tops the country, making us a school a junior high school graduate could ever wish for.
5. Our students are top-notch in the skills competition, winning prizes after prizes in National Talent Competitions for Senior High School Students in the Department of Home Economics as well as in National High School Commercial Skills Competition.
6. Each classroom is equipped with a digital podium, a projector and some latest electronic teaching aids with teaching materials digitalized.
7. To improve our students’ language abilities and to empower their awareness of the global community, students have English listening practices twice a week in the morning and take English listening tests periodically. Moreover, we strongly promote student exchange programs and outbound educational trips.
8. As the Center for the study area of Business and Administration, we boast abundant teaching resources for teachers and students of the department of Business and Administration.
