14.學校簡史 School's Brief history *

Jian-Shan Primary School is located in Taoyuan District, Kaohsiung City, and Southern part of Taiwan. In this district, it is an indigenous community and the majority population is Bunun community. Ear-Shooting and Millet-Entry Ceremony are the major annual festivals and Bunun community is famous for “Eight-Part Polyphony, the Exploit Praising Ritual, Clapping Song.”

15.學校特色 School features *

Jian-Shan Primary School Folksong Club at the beginning was conducted by Ms. Zhou Pin Xiu and Ms. Du Qiu Xia. Since February 2018, Dr. Chen, Chun Chih has taken over the club as the Chorus’ conductor. This chorus consists of about 20 students from grade 3 to grade 6.

Although we just started up less than a year, we’ve participated in 7-School-United Concert, Bunun Celestial Voice Show, National Folksong Preliminary Contest in Kaohsiung, and so forth. The main reason for this Chorus start-up is we hope that we plant the seed of music, which will gradually grow and boom in this land. Moreover, we want our students to explore the world with open minds.
