Tamsui Elementary School was established in May 1896 and is the second oldest school in the country's history.The predecessor of Tamsui Elementary School was the "Huwei National Language Learning Institute," which was one of the first public schools established during the Japanese colonial period.In 1903, in response to the completion of a new school building, the school was relocated to its current location and has stood there ever since. At this time, it was also renamed "Huwei Public School" and later underwent two more name changes, becoming "Tamsui Public School" and then "Tamsui East Elementary School."In 1946, the school was renamed "Tamsui National School."In accordance with the implementation of the nine-year compulsory education, in 1968, the school was renamed "Tamsui Elementary School."

Under the century-long cultivation of humanities, Tamsui Elementary School coexists harmoniously with nature and develops the "INFINITY Tamsui Spirit, Huwei Affection" curriculum.The curriculum combines local characteristics and aesthetics as its core, employing diverse experiential strategies and promoting cross-disciplinary integrated learning concepts, while continuously deepening teaching practices.Our goal is holistic education, with students as the main focus, aiming to fully develop their potential and cultivate future citizens who possess love, dreams, and courage.
