The school is located behind Taoyuan Railway Station at a site which used to be a large pond. In the 1950s and 1960s, the industrial and commercial functions of the station area developed rapidly and its population grew quickly as well. At the same time, the large Shimen Reservoir to the north of Taoyuan was completed, to the pond’s water storage function became obsolete. In 1974 , the pond was transformed into the campus of our school.
The school sits on a wall-enclosed plot of land of 5.6 hectares, which includes clearly separated areas for dynamic activity and quiet study. The sports area includes a 300-meter polyurethane running track around a grass soccer pitch, table tennis room, weightlifting practice room, volleyball court, basketball court, long jump track and sandpit, and shot put circle, all of which offer a wide variety of athletic options for students to choose from. The learning area comprises classrooms and a student activity center that can accommodate up to 4000 people. The green campus includes the Mindfulness Pond, an ecological pond, an oak grove, a plum orchard, and a greenhouse,—providing the students a comfortable and inspiring learning environment.

1. International education trip
Our school has also held international education trips to Japan and South Korea, and conducted exchanges with two schools respectively to experience the diversity of different cultures and increase children's understanding of the world.
2. Cultural exchange
Interacting with foreign students can give them a wider variety of inspiration compared with textbooks. We are happy to see them learning and having fun at the same time. We also believe that actual cultural experience will surely have a positive impact and bring enjoyment to the children.
3. International Perspective curriculum
Our foreign teacher, Cody, teaches this class with English teachers at our school. Our first year students have been learning about the seven continents. Each class will march in a parade to represent one of five continents: Africa, Europe, Asia, North and South America. Our 8th grade students take local food and night markets as topics to show their love to Taiwan. Our school's annual Sports Day is a very exciting time for all students at Chien-Kuo, and our students are out in the sun showing their school spirit! Students will take part in exciting races, hilarious games, and a thunderous cheer contest. It is a great chance for us to compete and have fun with our classmates. Sports day is a chance for our students to try their best and test their mettle on the track. Our students show enthusiasm and display the spirit of sportsmanship in each race.
Chien-Kuo Junior High School is also committed to organizing international education exchanges and learning projects. We believe the introduction of diverse topics from many countries can make children more interested in learning. We have led students to gain a deeper understanding of Uganda with the theme of period poverty, and we have invited ICDF scholarship students as speakers to share their culture as well. Through studying the U.N’s sustainable development goals, our students reflect on the environmental impact of their own life choices: food waste and food packaging. Further, our students examine and think about ways to improve traditional Taiwanese dinners in our Improving New Years dinner project. Our school creates chances to communicate with international partners and promotes international volunteers and international vision courses. Continuous communication with other countries is what Chien Kuo Junior High School has been working hard to achieve. We sincerely welcome people from all over the world to learn together and be our friends!
