Taichung Municipal Dali Senior High School is a six-year high school, located in Dali District, Taichung. It was founded in 1967 and used to be a junior high, under the former name of Taichung County Dali Junior High School. In 2001, by virtue of providing an access to a public senior high school education for local students, Dali Junior High School was granted to be transformed into a six-year high school and hence became the first public senior high school in Dali District.
In 1999, a violent earthquake struck Taiwan and most of the school buildings were severely damaged during the 911 earthquake. Thanks to the help and relief work of Tzu-chi Foundation, school buildings were reconstructed from the rubble and debris and a beautiful campus was restored. The exterior walls of school buildings are grey, pebble-dashing, which gives off the air of being firm, down to earth and in harmony with the great nature. As with the architectural features of school buildings and spacious campus, students here are expected to be humble in learning, appreciative of what they are blessed with, and confident in their skills and communicative ability.
Dali Senior High School has the most spacious campus in Taichung, which covers 6.34 hectares in territory, lined with flourishing, lush and greenery trees and meadows. In 2018, it was, thus, designated as the track and field practice venue for the East Asian Youth Games (though cancelled in 2019) and granted a subsidy to reconstruct and renovate the track and field of the sports field. With the great sports field to educate and nourish potential athletes, Dali Senior High School was granted to have a physical education class in junior high division to recruit students who are interested and skilled in the field of sports. At present, we have physical education classes in both junior and senior high divisions to have a complete and long-term training program in school to nourish these young potential athletes.
In 2017, the new library was constructed and completed in 2019. The new library is the iconic and symbolic building on the campus. It has a collection of more than more than thirty thousand volumes, providing an access for students to different genre of books.
So far, Dali High School has 44 classes, with 20 classes of junior high and 24 classes of senior high respectively. In junior high, we have physical education in each grade. In senior high, we have the physical education class and a science class in each grade to educate students with different intelligence so that they can fully develop their competence and ability. Both the junior and senior high students can share the resources of well-equipped learning environment. For example, each classroom is air-conditioned and well-equipped with smart board and e-class learning environment, which facilitate students' learning effectively and efficiently.

Special classes and diverse courses:
To take care of students with special educational needs, besides the regular classes, science class and physical education class are set up for students with different intelligence. As for physical education class, our school teams have won numerous medals in different sports events and has always been in the first top place of National High School Games in terms of the number of medals. As for the science class, students are actively taking part in many science competitions and have great performance. What's more, we offer diverse courses to motivate students' interest in different learning fields, such as programming writing, LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3, cross-culture, foreign languages, etc. so that students can take these electives and explore their interests and potentials.
International Education:
To broaden student's horizons and to develop their global perspective, cultural exchange tour to Japan is held annually and we also host the students from different high schools in Japan. Furthermore, multiple foreign language courses are offered, such as Japanese, Korean, French and Spanish since language proficiency is essential in students' future career in this world of globalization.
Campus Life:
Dali students focus not just on academic performance but also on extracurricular activities. So far, around 40 clubs, including the junior and senior divisions, have been organized and a variety of performances and activities are held regularly, with each displaying student's self-discipline, self-growth, creativity, and autonomy. Every year, Student Union will hold the Christmas Song Singing contest and each class will do their utmost to show the best of their singing, dancing, and even short drama play. It's also a good chance for each class to display their teamwork and creativity. What's more, in the beginning of each semester, a club fair will be held by Student Union, which allows freshmen to have a better understanding of school clubs and to choose from the club that they are interested in.
E-class learning environment:
To motivate students' learning interests through different approaches, each classroom in Dali High School is equipped with the latest E-class and E-board learning environment and all of the teachers are providing different teaching approaches combined with the E-board to facilitate students' learning proficiency.
