A Brief History of Changhua Senior High School

Founded in 1942, during the Japanese colonial period, our school was originally named "Taichu Prefecture Changhua Middle School" and operated on a four-year system.

After Taiwan was restored to the Republic of China in 1945, the school was renamed "Taiwan Provincial Changhua Middle School." In 1946, it was reorganized into a complete middle school following the "3-3 system," which included both junior and senior high sections.

In 1968, the government implemented the nine-year compulsory education program, leading to the gradual phasing out of our junior high division. In August 1970, the school was officially renamed "Taiwan Provincial Changhua Senior High School." The school's name changed again in February 2000 to "National Changhua Senior High School."

Over the years, the school has expanded its programs to meet the needs of a modern education. In 2009, we established the Taiwan Provincial Resource Center for Gifted Education. We also added a science class in August 2011 and implemented a special science education project in 2012. In 2014, with the implementation of the new high school entrance exam policy, our school was designated to conduct special admissions.

Throughout its history, successive principals have dedicated themselves to developing the school. Currently, the school has 60 regular academic classes and 3 music classes.

Situated on Changhua's Bagua Mountain, our campus is a quiet and serene learning environment, surrounded by lush green trees. Our alumni are distinguished leaders in various fields, including economics, science, politics, education, medicine, academia, and business, and they serve as vital pillars of the nation.
