Taichung Municipal Dongshih Industrial High school was officially founded in 1946. The present campus covers an area of 10.0978 hectares.
The school currently consists of 206 faculty members, 1517 students from day school, and 479students from school of continuing studies. Ten departments were set up: Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Dept. of Auto Mechanics, Dept. of Darting, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Dept. of Electronic Engineering, Dept. of Computer Sicence, Dept. of Architecture, Dept. of Chemical Engineering, Dept. of Interior Space Design, and Dept. of Furniture Design.

Located in the Dongshih District of Taichung City, the school is characterized by its mountainous area and traditional Hakka culture, and develops training for local industrial technicians, with a total of ten courses in Automotive, Machinery, Electrical engineering, Electronics, Information technology, Furniture design, Interior space design, Architecture, Drafting, and Chemical engineering.
In recent years, with the trend of globalization and internationalization, we are committed to promoting international education, hoping to combine technical exchange and cultural learning, cultivate students' diversified understanding in interpersonal communication, language and cultural literacy, and expand their international horizons, so as to enhance students' character cultivation and a more macroscopic value recognition.
