The school was founded on April 1st, 1944 as “Hsinchu Industrial School” with Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering departments. Later, 7 departments were established in succession, including Sheet Metalworking, Drafting, Interior Space Design, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Restaurant Services department. It is renowned for being one of the 8 provincial industrial schools promoting Taiwan's technical and vocational education. The school located close to Hsinchu Science Park, National Tsing Hua University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and other first-class institutes in Taiwan. Therefore, the school has the edge on cultivating industrial and academic talents and has become the cradle of modern technical talents.

Hsinchu Industrial High School provides students with professional knowledge and training, which are required in the future entrance examination and employment. Students are guaranteed with excellent academic proficiency and distinguished expertise. Over the years, the qualification rate has been top-ranked among the vocational schools in Taiwan. With the outstanding performance in each professional competition, students are highly recognized in the academic circle and industry field. Recently, with the anticipation to advance with the times, the school has been actively applying for programs from the government. Moreover, to reach the goal of even more globalization, Hsinchu Industrial High School has been positively participating in varoius kinds of international education exchange and bridging international cooperation with foreign schools.
