As the largest school in Dayuan, Taoyuan, Dayuan Junior High School was originally located in the northeastern part of Dayuan, very close to the Taoyuan Airport. Established in 1952 by the name of Taoyuan County Taoyuan High School Dayuan Branch, the school took high school students at that time. In response to the nine-year compulsory education, it was restructured into Taoyuan County Dayuan Junior High School, which enrolled junior high school students only. In 1986, its supplementary school was set up. 

Since Dayuan Junior High School was originally located right next to the Taoyuan Airport, teachers and students suffered a lot from the nonstop loud noise of planes. To provide a better and safer educational environment for the kids in Dayuan, Dayuan Junior High School has been relocated to the present site at Nangang Bus Park due to the Taoyuan Aerotropolis project. The construction of the new campus, with an area of 4.36 hectares, started on October 27, 2015, and was fully operational in 2018 for the spring semester. Dayuan Junior High School was awarded the Diamond Grade of Green Building Label, the only school in Taoyuan to receive such an honor.
